Lord Horatio Nelson was an Admiral and British Flag officer in the Royal Navy

His famous signal ‘England expects that every man will do his duty’ was made from HMS Victory on 21st October 1805, minutes before the Battle of Trafalgar in which he was fatally wounded by a French sharpshooter.

Around the base there are pistols, telescopes, ammuntion, a cameo of Lady Hamilton and and Nelson’ iconic hat together with the famous inscription of his immortal words .. ‘England expects that every man will do his duty’
